How Canabalt plays

Canabalt reduces the endless runner to one essential decision: when to jump. The character accelerates automatically across rooftops, so the player is responsible for reading gaps, obstacles, windows, and landing distance while the pace continues to rise. The grayscale city, restrained sound, and immediate restart make the game easy to understand but difficult to master. A long run depends less on frantic input than on looking ahead and choosing a jump that preserves a useful landing position.

Press the displayed jump key or use the supported mouse input to clear gaps and obstacles. Short and long presses can affect the shape of a jump, while collisions can reduce momentum without always ending the run. This archive is marked working in Ruffle. Because the game responds to a small input set, it also works well in fullscreen once the player has focus.
